| I had originally gone out by
myself and trolled the
Beetlespin along the shoreline. I
hooked the massive fish breifly
and it threw the hook as it
jumped. I went to the house
and talked my wife into
operating the trolling motor
while I fished. I asked her to go
over the same spot where I
had hooked the Bass and sure
enough, there she was. At
first, I thought I hooked a stump
then she started tearing off
line. I had to get my wife to turn
the boat around so we could
chase the fish down. It made a
few attempts to jump but only
came half way out. The fight
lasted about 10 minutes. my
knees were shaking as my
wife netted the fish. I couldn't
beleive what I was seeing. A 9
pound Bass on an 1/8 oz
Beetlespin. The Bass was
released to have babies and
fight another day. I'll never
forget it. |
