| It was a beautiful sunny day with a light breeze. We were 60 miles offshore, on a temperature break - trolling for albies. Meili's rod goes off, and I pulled it out of the holder and handed it to her. She was having a bit of time holding on, and the fish pinned her to the gunnel a couple times. She almost lost the rod, so I took a shoulder harness and attached her to the rod. I told her, 'There, now if you loose the rod - you are going with it!'. After a few minutes and some explosive runs, her first Albacore tuna was safely in the boat. |
