Was out bass fishing in a area were the pads were just starting to break the surface. We saw a group of carp bolt out of the area and I jokingly commented to my brother that there wad probably a big tiger muskie chasing.g them. On my next cast I had gotten to the point were u speed up your real just to get it in when out of nowhere this muskie gradually swims up and grab my bait right next to the boat and just keeps swimming. After a few minutes we got him in the boat which was the hardest part. He bottomed out a 25lb scale and measured a estimated 50 inches we only had a 24inch tape so measurement was rough. After a few pics he was released and swam off with a big tail kick. Later at home found out are state record is only 51 inches.
